OPENMIND’S MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES & EDUCATORS
Let’s nurture mentally healthy future generations.
I’m convinced that we can shape a different future for this country as it relates to mental health and as it relates to suicide.

what's your role?
We each have a unique opportunity to directly influence the mental health of those around us. Our focus at OpenMIND is primarily on the future generations. We have the opportunity to positively influence how they experience and manage feelings of depression, anxiety, loneliness, hopelessness, and more. We shape how they respond to these feelings, and how they see themselves and those around them who struggle with mental health issues.
As family members and educators, you and we have the privilege to positively build a mentally healthy culture. What’s your role?

“As a school counselor I was doing things such as yoga and mindfulness groups to help children with self regulation, especially my kiddos with lots of trauma. I started at a new school this year and my principal is big into restorative classrooms. We don’t believe in punishment, only natural consequences. We both attended a yoga calm conference and have since been trying to get teachers to “buy in” on doing yoga, if only in tiny amounts, to help the kids. When I go in for classroom lessons we do a few yoga movements (or a www.gonoodle.com yoga) and practice sitting mindfully (maybe use www.mindyeti.com). Every classroom in our building has calming corners with yoga mats, fidgets, and posters on breathing exercises.”
– Cassie Larson (School Counselor)
